Who was the customer?
A homeowner in Norfolk seeking to enhance their living space with a larger, more functional kitchen.
Where was the project located?
Browick Road, Norfolk.
How did they hear about you, and why did they choose you?
The client had already worked with Birch Construction on a previous project and returned to us based on their positive experience. Our reputation for delivering high-quality work, friendly service, and attention to detail made us the natural choice for this next phase of their home improvement journey.
What was the brief?
To extend the kitchen and create a spacious, light-filled, and stylish area suitable for modern family living — while also updating the downstairs shower room to match the new aesthetic.
What were the steps taken to achieve the brief?
- Removed the existing rear wall of the property
- Built a 28m² flat-roof kitchen extension
- Installed multiple steel beams to maintain structural integrity
- Fitted 3-metre bi-fold doors to maximise natural light and garden views
- Added a pitched roof lantern to further brighten the space
- Installed a timeless shaker-style kitchen with a functional breakfast island
- Laid oak herringbone luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring throughout the new kitchen
- Renovated the downstairs shower room to reflect the updated style and improve practicality
Were there any challenges along the way?
The structural requirements of the original building necessitated the careful integration of steelwork to support the extension. Coordination between our team and structural engineers was essential to deliver a secure and seamless result.
Who worked on this project?
Jake and Jack led the project, supported by the wider Birch Construction team, including our kitchen fitters, carpenters, and decorators — all working closely with the client to ensure their vision was brought to life.
